Happy Happy Wednesday lovelies! I hope you all had an amazing Fourth of July and ate a bunch of BBQ! That’s mainly what my day consisted of, as well as a laid back pool day! It was so nice to hang out with family and friends all day!
Today I am putting out another Wedding Wednesday post! I decided I will be writing these #weddingwednesday posts until my anniversary which is on August 9th (happens to be a Wednesday)! I think it would be a fun way to close off this fun series!
I was ALL about flowers on my wedding day!! I literally wanted as many flowers as I could have! They’re my favorite part of the decor at weddings and it’s always the first think I notice at people’s weddings! I really wanted to go for a timeless and classic look when it came to flowers. I knew I would be looking back at these pictures for years to come and didn’t want them to just be “trendy” and go out of style but instead wanted to love them 50 years from now!
I literally told my florist 80% white flowers and 20% blush flowers! I was very particular about the types of flowers in the arrangements!! Literally showed her the exact color of the flower too (picky much!?) I also added some pops of greenery throughout all the bouquets and arrangements!
It is extremely important to do your research when it comes to flowers!! This area will be a BIG part of your wedding budget because it takes a huge chunk of it. It’s important to know what flowers are in season at the time you are getting married! If you decide to have a winter wedding but want peonies you will be paying double the price! Secondly, know what flowers are beautiful but are not going to break the bank! I REALLY love peonies and wish I could have had them everywhere, unfortunately they cost a pretty penny so I added them in my bouquet and scattered them around my other decor. Instead of using so many peonies I had garden roses which are almost identical and half the price!
I would recommend showing your florist tons of photos you have in your inspiration board on Pinterest!! This really helps them understand what the vision for your wedding day is! I don’t know about you but I was pinning wedding inspo since before I was dating my husband!
Another tip I have is make sure your paying attention to detail!! Your florals need to be consistent from bridesmaid bouquets, to the ceremony, and reception! I’ve gone or seen a few weddings where the florals are different or are arranged differently from area to area and it really throws off the aesthetic. Keep everything fresh, clean, and looking the same throughout your entire wedding and be sure to communicate this with your florist!
Lastly, DO NOT freak out if your flowers aren’t exactly how you imagined them! I had such a clear shot of how I thought they would look and it’s impossible for your florist to get it exactly correct! Thanks for stopping by, next week I’m going to be talking about all the ceremony!! Love you all!
