Welcome back beautiful babes!! I know I know… I’ve been behind on these Wedding Wednesday posts! With starting a YouTube + the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going on I’ve been swamped!! I literally haven’t had a break in days because I want to make sure I keep up with all the amazing content for you guys!!
With that being said today’s post is going to be all about the wedding ceremony!! I will also be talking about my opinions regarding the ‘first look’!
I am going to start of saying that the ceremony part of the day was VERY important to my hubby and I!! We really wanted to put God at the center of our relationship which meant our wedding would be God centered! We completely understood this is the spot we would seal a covenant with God so it would be a special moment we would remember forever!!
For my ceremony site, I really wanted it to be fresh and clean, hence the all white flowers and decor! My bridesmaids were the only pop blush in the entire ceremony!
When searching for wedding venues a big thing I was looking for was a gorgeous venue site! If I looked online and saw that the ceremony site wasn’t spectacular I didn’t even bother visiting!! Think about the fact that the ceremony will be your grand entrance as a bride!
I was absolutely in LOVE with how the florals turned out our ceremony location!! It was honestly just as I envisioned it in my head! I have always loved flower arches at weddings and when I saw this beautiful structure I knew I had to add a flower arch to the center!! I asked for a lot of greenery and white for my ceremony and that is what I got! We added an arch full of greenery with pops of white flowers!
I would defiantly encourage you to not neglect your aisle!! I’ve seen or been to a few weddings where the altar was so gorgeous but then the aisle had nothing!! You really need to pay attention to this detail because you want to make sure the decor balances out!!
For our aisle, I used white Shepard hooks and asked my florist to wrap it with some vines! It then hung a clear vase with white flowers *cue the heart eyes*! Lastly, I added white petals to line the aisle so it could give a pop on top of the grass!!
Okay so I really wanted to tackle a controversial wedding related topic! There are SO many opinions when it comes to the infamous ‘first look’. I did A LOT of research before I decided whether or not I wanted to do one or not! Traditionally, the groom does not see his bride until she walks down the aisle! Recently, couples have decided to see each other before and get a moment to take in the day!
Yes, I had a first look and I would 100% recommend it for EVERYONE! This was such a special and intimate moment between my groom and I! Like I said, the day goes by SO fast and by walking down the aisle you’re not able to really take in the special moment because you will have so many emotions!
Another benefit to having a first look is you have a lot more time for photo’s!! Our photographers actually recommended this to us so that we’re able to get as many pictures as possible!
A common misconception is that if the couple has a first look the actual walk down the aisle will be less special and or emotional! This is completely WRONG!! My hubby cried both times, yup both!! Walking down the aisle is still so special because it is something both of us have dreamed and waited for our entire life!! I actually got more emotional walking down the aisle then I did at the first look!!
I hope this post helped you as you plan your special day + ceremony!! Love you all and see you next Wednesday to hear about receptions!!
