Today I want to share my recent travels with you all!! Okay honestly this was almost a month ago but I’ve just been so busy with Christmas and New Years that I kept pushing it to the side!!
I love traveling and getting to visit places outside of LA and Orange County! This year for Victor’s birthday we decided to go to San Fran for a few days!! It was AMAZING!! I’ve been before when I was younger but I loved exploring the beautiful city with my husband!
The first thing I’m going to tell you is, go visit Sequoia on the way to San Francisco or just sometime during the trip!! For us this was just a short detour but SO worth it!! The tree’s are absolutely beautiful and are actually the biggest tree’s in the world! They’re definitely worth seeing at least once in your life!
Now, the first thing you need to know about San Francisco is the parking SUCKS and traffic is even worse!! I live in LA where people say were aggressive drivers but NOPE! San Fran is way harder to drive in because of all the weird streets and people honk at you every two seconds! With that being said, you need to walk or uber during your trip!! This is what we did and it worked out great!!
Our hotel was in the heart of the city so we were walking distance to a lot of the major attractions! The first place we went to see was Lombard Street! This is the coolest street I’ve ever seen!! We walked to the top (which was super steep and I’m out of shape…) and the view was breathtaking!! You could see the city, beach, and even Alcatraz!!
We then visited Ghirardelli Square which is the original location for their chocolate factory!! This was also walking distance from Lombard Street and it was fun to see the houses on the way over! They have SO much character to them and you don’t see that often in Orange County!
We got a cup of coffee and some samples of chocolate and enjoyed the beautiful brick buildings!! The first day in San Fran I wore my suede moto jacket, a belt, and some OTK boots!! It was super windy the first day so it was nice to have this cozy jacket because it didn’t let the wind through!! Over all the weather was PERFECT!! I’ve heard it can get pretty cold but we got kinda hot walking around so much throughout the day!
Next up: Fisherman’s Wharf!! This is such a fun place to visit if you’re ever in San Francisco, especially if you like sea food!! I have such great childhood memories from walking around the pier and seeing the FAMOUS sea lions!! Oh my goodness, I think we watched these guys for a good 20 minutes! They’re seriously hilarious!
I would plan to eat here for either lunch or dinner and I totally recommend a clam chowder in a bread bowl soup! They’re well known for this and actually have the factory that started sour dough bread!! If you’ve been to Disneyland they have a pier that looks like Fisherman’s Wharf and you can get a bread bowl soup as well!!
Union SEquare is something new I got to see in San Fran! It pretty much looks like a Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills!! They have big gorgeous stores EVERYWHERE! During Christmas they had a huge tree with ice skating! This is such a great place for shopping because the stores are 3 times the normal size! We went into a few stores but our favorite was Express, it was like 5 stories!!
Palace of Fine Arts… Just WOW!! This is totally something you need to see if you’re in the area!! For some reason I’ve never heard of this place until this trip!! It was just… STUNNING!! It was the cutest park with an ancient looking structure and makes for some beautiful pictures!! We seriously couldn’t believe how amazing it was the whole time!
Last but not least, we HAD to stop by and see the Golden Gate Bridge! We actually took the scenic route all the way around the hill and it was so worth it!! Most people stop at the first few picture spots but it was WAY to crowded so we decided to keep going and the view was amazing!!
The first photo (of my super cute hubby) is at the first stop and it was nice because the bridge was a little closer! The last two photo’s are from the second spot!! There were barely any people at this location and it was AMAZING!! As you can see, this view also shows the beach and hills!!
I hope you enjoyed this little travel guide and thanks for stopping by! Please message me if you have any questions about outfit details or just San Francisco in general!
